AI Workflow Consulting
Redesign one recurring business process, then decide where AI genuinely earns a place in it.
What does an AI workflow consultant do?
An AI workflow consultant studies a recurring business process, documents how the work actually happens, and redesigns it so the repetitive parts are handled consistently. I map steps, handoffs, files, and decision points, remove duplicated work, then apply AI only where it reliably improves speed, accuracy, or visibility. People keep the judgment calls, and every workflow ships with review checkpoints and documentation.
Who this is for
Operations-heavy businesses where a small team keeps a lot of recurring work moving: monthly reporting, reconciliation preparation, document handling, multi-location coordination, vendor paperwork, and management updates. The work is important, well understood by the people doing it, and almost entirely manual.
- Finance, accounting support, and administrative teams drowning in recurring files
- Multi-location operators who need one consistent process across sites
- Owner-operators where one person is the process
- Teams already experimenting with AI but with no rules, prompts, or review standards
The problems this usually starts with
- Combining multiple Excel workbooks by hand to produce one report
- Reclassifying the same recurring transactions every single month
- Reading PDFs and retyping the contents somewhere else
- Opening four systems to answer one management question
- A process that only survives because one employee remembers it
What the engagement looks like
Work starts with a workflow diagnostic on one process. I sit with the people doing the work, document the current steps in plain language, and identify what should be simplified, standardized, automated, AI-assisted, or deliberately kept human. You receive a written workflow blueprint and an implementation plan before anything is built.
If we continue into a build, the workflow is implemented with the right combination of templates, rules, prompts, source-of-truth instructions, exception handling, and human review checkpoints — then tested against real historical work and documented in an SOP your team can follow.
Where AI assists and where it does not
AI is useful for pattern-heavy, repetitive interpretation work: reading documents, drafting recurring outputs, applying rules that already exist in approved historical records, and surfacing exceptions. It is not a substitute for accountability. Classification decisions, exceptions, approvals, and final posting stay with the people responsible for them.
